  1. I have converted many AVI to VCD compatable mpegs but I am having a problem with this one file.

TMPEG tells me that the video is 2.5 hours long while every other player and file properties tells me that it is 24 min long. Oh well, I guess I will just stop the conversion when it hits the last frame. That worked for the video but I have no sound.

Has anybody had this problem before?

  2. Does it have variable bitrate audio stream, TMPGEnc cant handle this type of audio well and misreports the video duration as a result. Open the avi file in virtualdub and see if you get a warning about the audio being VBR. If so you need to save it out as an uncompressed wav file and use this as your audio source in tmpgenc.
