I just converted my 1gHz Dell (382 M RAM) to dual-boot so that I could use Windows 2000 for an NTFS formatted partition. My intention is to use this section just for burning DVDs where the files may exceed the 4G limit of 98 / ME. All the programs mentioned work fine under ME.
I installed the trial of DVD Workshop which would load to the "Try It" screen then crash with an "Unable to load codec" message. I decided to load Scenalyzer to test capturing DV. The sound and image in preview stutter, and the capture has starts and stops. I tried VideoStudio6 which would capture to MPEG, but when switched to DV started pausing and dropping frames.
I've never had any problems with DV, or ever dropped any frames. I'm not sure where to start to debug this thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
