  1. Hi I jsut finished burning my first dvd-9 to dvd-5. I was not easy but I made it. These are the programs that I used...

    DVD Decrypter
    ReMPEG2
    IfoEdit
    Nero
    *All are latest versions

After ripping, encoding, then burning it onto a CD, I played it on both my dvd player (computer) and Stand alone and the video quality sucks. Seems like Jagged edges or the images seem like small boxes. What did I do wrong? Are the programs I used good? What causes the bad quality? I think this might of been from my encoding. Maybe someone has encounter this problem and can troubleshoot me through this.

    Thank you

i believe that pixelation is caused by the mpeg encoder... i would check your setting there
You win some, and you lose some, and some get rained out...

  3. Should I lower it or raise it more? Cause I believe I set it to the max. Any other suggestions?

  4. I have the same exact problem. I encoded it with TMPGEnc, and when I play it on my standalone DVD player, I have some irregularities. Small boxes, irriated sounds, and just a few visual flaws here and there (about every 5 seconds or so)

I encoded it using highest quality .mpg file, and it still doesn't seem to change it much. What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Switch to encode with TMPGenc and stay with the wizard specs at first , anywhere between 2500 and 7000 bitrate should look fine ...

    good luck
