    Hi

I Forget if Easy Cd creator 4 is the same as the new one V5, I guess it is. You need to use the VCD creator that comes with it. Then it loads in the Mpeg (PAL or NTSC) and burns the disk with the correct folders and tracks.

You cannot just put the dat file on a disk and expect it to work. There are folders, and the disk is not a regular mode disk. Look for VCD creator on your system, then use a program like TMPGEnc to make the correct mpeg files.

The Mpeg movies must be correct to work..

    Video-CD PAL (MPEG-1 352x288 25fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

    Video-CD NTSC (MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

  3. MuratSonel, I am thinking about buying one of those portable VCD players. Have you been able to play any VCDs on it? What is the quality like?

also try nero (www.nero.com). it's much easier than adaptec, which doesn't really author very compliant discs in the first place. there are more links to the left in the tools and authoring and burning sections

for a NAPA player use a video bitrate of 1123kbps, not 1150, or you'll get skips (and yes, 1123 is within the VCD spec)

Dont know what you mean by this, if you try to import a mpeg file into easy cd that is not exactly correct spec, it warns you.

As for making the VCD with it, its childs play..

really? can you be more specific. I'm guessing that it might be in the spec for segment items, but I dont think anything but 1150 is allowed for the normal sequence items that go into the mpegav directory.
