  1. I've used this site to successfully create CDs (from a PC) that I can play on a DVD Player that I bought after reseaching stuff here. During my surfing of this site, I noticed that there was information about the Mac, but I wasn't looking for Mac solutions then. I told a friend (with a Mac, I don't know which, but it looks like a notebook-type to me. He is runing OS 9 on it and it has firewire ports as well.) He wants to connect his Canon Elura camcorder to the Mac and capture the video. The PDF manual I downloaded from the canon web site, doesn't have much on this subject, other than to get their DK-1 DV Capture kit to be able to capture "stills" from the camera. So I'm thinking that to capture video from this camera, it would be through a Mac utility either from Apple or third party. I have a slow connection (56k) to the internet, so it takes too much time to surf around for this information. I have used the search feature here to find some tips, but not specificly what I need. Any pointers? Is there a software repository here for just Mac, or is it intermingled with the PC?
    Thanks.

If your friend's camera has a Firewire port, I think iMovie for OS 9 will import that video lickety split.
