Everyone seems to be talking about quality loss when making the video smaller using tmpeng.
I have been making 7Gb movies into 3.1Gb .m2v files using TMPEng and then burning and think the quality is still great. I just did jackie brown (153min). The bitrate was arounf 3200 I belive.
I have a 32inch sony wega. As long as you sit more then 4 ft. away you really cant tell the difference (you can slightly when the movie has dark scences).
and the funny thing is that I use CBR. I tried VBR and quality did not change.

If you think that's good, I've been putting 2 movies per DVD at 352x480. The quality looks as good as it does from my digital cable.
