  1. I'm going to be purchasing a new computer system soon. I will be using it for digital photography and viedo capture/DVD creation. I have all of the hardware picked out and I need to decide on an operating system. I run Windows 2000 professional on my current system. Should I stick with w2k prof or go to XP professional? I have heard some negative things in regards to XP but the enhanced multimedia performance may be worth it.

    Your thoughts?

(p.s. I hope this is in the correct forum.)

The system I have I use almost exclusivly for vid cap/editing. I'm running win2k, when I tried loading winxp my nightmares began. After 4 days of tweaking etc, etc I went right back to win2k. Thank god I ran a dual boot system. XP is gone and I've never looked back. Personaly I think xp sucks. Just remember this is only one mans opinion

  3. Y'know what? I had gazillions of BSOD's with 2k, and never one with XP. that being said (yes, it could be drivers or anything, but it crashes on every damn computer at work too) XP is MUCH more stable, but feature wise? Uh. I can notice a new GUI... Otherwise, to me, it's still windows, nothing really that incredible about it.
