Since I bought my DVD player I already tried burning 4 VCDs, all of them had problems.

Actually, the first three were from the same video file (a MPEG I downloaded on KaZaA), I tried all tips (found here) to convert it to proper VCD format using TMPEGEnc and VCDEasy. The last time I tried the problem was slightly better, it only halted 3s from the end. (all these three I tried on the same CDRW disc).

But this last VCD I tried is complete crap, I made a VCD from four separated MPEGs not reencoded in anyway, I just threw them in Nero and it reencoded the files (when necessary, some didn't need to). The menu worked fine, and the first MPEG played fine for like 2mins, then it started halting, and huge squares appearing, complete blanks at times, missing sound. The other three videos already started with problems.

My player is a Panasonic RV32, which I've found out to be a good player with very good recomendations.

So, what am I doing wrong?

Details: the CDRW disc is SKC, and the CDR (in which I burnt this last VCD) is TDK.

Just one other thing, all VCDs I burn have PBC on. And I don't like this one bit, cuz I can't tell the playing time (it doesn't show on the player display or on the OSD). Can I turn PBC off and still have menus and chapters?

  2. I haven't and probably never use nero for reencoding but you could try burning them at a slower speed...that sometimes works. I am guessing that all of your vcds play fine on your computer? I prefer using tmpgenc since I can view it after I convert something.

But do u own the exact same player? Panasonic RV32?

I tried using TMPEGEnc and burning with Nero at 4x, still got errors.
