I tried using TMPGEnc Plus to re-encode an MPEG2 TV capture. I was basically just trying to get the 2Gb movie re-encoded to fit on 2 discs but TMPG kept freezing up during the process.
The fact that it started encoding at all made me assume I didn't need any plugins.
It works fine when encoding a DVD2SVCD file.

    Ideas?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your time Haggis!
No, I still want the end result to be SVCD. I just want to lower the bitrate from what it was captured at so it will fit on 2 CDs. I thought TMPG would be good for this.

I'm also not sure what capture quality I should set my PVR to when doing TV captures. I have plenty of hard drive space so that's not an issue.
