  2. I am afraid I can't really answer your question, but I can ask another one. Why do you want PAL. PAL is the european standard but in my experience, all European DVD players happily play NTSC disk. When doing so they either output NTSC signals or PAL-60. Sometimes it is selactable in the players set up menus.

Also, nearly all modern european TV's will ahndle at least PAL-60 and many NTSC. Therefore in most cases this kind of conversion is not really neccessary. If I was you I would check out your DVD player and TV capabilities before taking this any further.

  3. Well that's right. My DVD player supports both. But if I use a NTSC SVCD (or even VCD) the pictures is just black and white. I think this is a problem of my television, because my other DVD player (an older one) also playes NTSC VCD only in black and white.
So I think i can choose between buying a new TV or converting the SVCDs in PAL.

    Thanks for your answer

  4. Just check your players manual to make sure it cannot be set to output PAL-60 instead of NTSC, your TV may handle that. SOmetimes it is a physical switch on the unit, others times it is set in the players setup menu options, often well hidden and several layers down.

    There's one more option.

My DVD player supports RGB with a scart lead. So does my TV. That bypasses all other problems with NTSC as long as your TV supports RGB and the hold rate.

  6. I can switch the dvd player to RGB mode but if I do this the hole picture has a blue touch.
