Aren't there anyone who edit the audio in a divx/avi ,and get a better quality out than the wizard does in TMPGEnc ???
And not you who have recivers that supports Mpeg multichannel.

Don't use TMPGenc for your audio. Edit it with TooLame, or BeSweet, or whatever. Use TMPGenc to multiplex your audio back in when your done.

If your source audio is good and is at 48khz, and you are making (S)VCD, then you may be experiencing the miserable job of 48-44 khz downsampling that TMPGEnc does. Process your audio with a 48-44khz downsample plugin. SSRC does a great job of this and can be downloaded here:

In TMPGEnc go to Option/Environmental setting/External tool/Sampling frequency convertor and point to the executable. It adds a bit of extra time to the processing but is worth every minute. -
Thanks for your reply.
Have either of you tried to use Headac3 to mix it to 2ch surrond , and then multiplexed it. I have a receiver/amplifier that don't suport mpegmultichannel only DTS/dolby prologic and surrond.I want to get out the best performance as possible with the equipment i have. And i don't think you can hear a improvement when you use 256 instead of 224kb/s in audiobitrate.... -
No, I haven't used headac3e, just Besweet to downmix to 2 channel surround. But you must ensure you have multichannel audio in order for 2 channel surround downmix to work. And no need to make the bitrate of your audio output any higher than the source.
