  1. its true. at least the one i have. at least for vcds. maybe its the dvd player itself or the vcr i got. i connected the cables and stuff to the vcr and played a vcd and it came out not as clear as at first when it was connected through the tv, but its not jumbled up like people claim macrovision can do. anyways, cool i guess. and i didn't use any hacks.

    I'm pretty sure Macrovision is only turned on
    if the media (disc) wants it on.

    Is your VCD a homemade copy?, when I'm sure you
    do not have the Macrovision flag set on this CD.

    Better check with a DVD before you make a statment like that.

    Though most APEX can be Firmware upgraded to macrovison free.

  3. i asked someone about macrovision and they told me that its programmed into the firmware and since nothing happened when i tried dubbing a vcd to vhs, i came to the conclusion that all was well.

    doesn't dvd and vhs have the macrovison.

  5. No VCDs have Macrovision. DVDs and VHS tapes do, but not all of them.
