  1. I just did quick erase in Nero and DVD Decrypet still thinks that it is not empty.

Did you followed my (not realy my) process step by step ? Try again and check options that I posted. And burn with Nero or RecordNow. If it doesn't work, then please type here every one of your steps and all error messages.

Thanks DonPedro,... At least you're getting the same results that I get from my version of Decryptor. I can use decryptor to write if it thinks my disk are not empty.

I have not followed the steps yet. Because my system crashed earlier, I had to reload window me, and after that I was setting up DirectX 8.1 because I knew that when I reloaded, it would be gone. I also knew I had to reload my new aspi driver I got from Nero to the Windows system file. After that I opened Decryptor to try the steps and got an immediate error message say, "Reload the orginal Windows WNASPI32.dll", and as I closed that error message window, then entire system got a hard crash. After that, nothing would restart,...so had to reload again and start over.

Now I find there is no Original Windows wnapsi32.dll. Only the new one is in the system folder. Windows me must see that it is a newer version and does not load the orginal off the disk. This is bad since Decryptor will only function with the orginal. All of this software is a mess. Nero says it has to have the newest version to work, and decryptor wants the orginal. I can't do it both ways. I'm going back to the Decryptor web site and see what they have for a driver and if they have the older version of their software. Boy if you think this crap is driving you guys crazy,...how do you thing I feel.

The magnitude of work I have to go through to change over to Win XP is very large, and I don't want to start that until I build my new system, which is laying in the corner right now. Somebody say a prayer for me,... I need more than luck right now.

DonPedro,... you won't believe it,... I finally got it to work. AFter I reloaded the Adaptec ASPI drivers, and rebooted, I tried the Decrypter and then Nero and it all worked. I'm playing the DVD+RW on my Apex 1500 right now. Haven't tried it on my Sylvania yet but that is next. I just very happy that I got one of my DVD+RW disk to play again.

I also did a directory display in Dos of the new DVD. As "Defense" indicated on his post, the order of the files on the DVD are wrong,.. i.e. not as they should be. The question is, does this make any difference, since the disk seems to work ok. I will also try it in PowerDVD again to see if it still plays there. I will have to go back to all my recent post and update people.

Thanks again for getting me back to Nero 5.5.9.17.0. What a miracle in all this confusion. I will also be one of those sending a note to Nero.

By the way,... have you ever tried REcordnowMax? How do you use it.

  5. Only RecordNow and updated RecordNow DX. It's kind of stupid. You have to make Data disk and copy VIDEO_TS and empty AUDIO_TS folder.

    DonPedro,

So you're telling me that RNM doesn't want the world to know that there software will really write a DVD Video disk, so you have to pretent your writing a "Data" disk, but just load the entire video file instead of data. Does this mean that RNM does no checking on what they are writing, so if the video is all wrong, there is no analysis,... and you set up the controls as if you were writing a CD-ROM. Wow,... that really makes me feel good. At least Nero does an analysis of the files and tells you about it.

And if you have trouble writing a DVD video, I guess you can't compain to "Stomp", since,... you were only supposed to be writing DATA. What do you mean it won't play in my DVD player,... why would you expect that,... why it is only DATA.... Somthing really smells about this.
