    just getting a new dvd re-writer and would like to know what the best tools are for converting. Any help much appreciated. (Don't really want a lot of coasters!!)

  3. Tip1: First use DVD+RW disc (if they work on your dvd player)

    Tip2: Try to find a single layer (DVD-5) DVD disc to backup.

    Tip3: Use a DVD where the movie part is around 4-5GB

    Use this guide by "Enemywithin"
    This should strip down 5GB to the needed max 4.3GB.

    Now you can move on to DVD+R and probably make no coasters.

    Defrag your HD if you think the vobs are spread all over the HD,
    as it could make the DVDR drive having a buffer underrun.
