new vcd doesn't play

i have nero 5.0 and i did what the instructions told me to do to send my .mpg file to the cd . i can watch it befor i burn it on the track list but after i burn it the mpgeav file where the vcd file is will not play and comes up with error? and it will not play in my dvd/vcd/music player . yes i know vcd works cause my friend has one he got and i can't get a hold of him and i don't know what is wrong can someone please help .

What instructions? Here on this site or in the Mero Manual?

There could have been something messing up during the burning process, try again... and maybe upgrade to Nero 5.5 first!
