I have been working to convert some VHS footage to DV via my VX2000 camera. I get good results but I get about 16 or 20 lines of garbage at the bottom of the frame. Can I masks these out with iMovie? I also tried Canopus ADVC100. Same lines at the bottom of the frame.
Is there a way to edit or filter these lines out of the frame? Why are they there?
Thx, DHG

It is called clipping or cropping. If you capture to virtual dub, you can do it while capturing using the null transform filter with the cropping option. If you capture in MPEG, you can do it after capturing using TMPGEnc using the Setting-->Advanced tab-->Clip frame option.
