I seem to have lost the black art. My lip synch is out when making svcds using TMPGEnc with SCMX tool. Any ideas?

Thanks for that but this is really weird. In Windows Media Player the lip synch looks OK but after I've burnt it, the sound is slightly ahead. HELP!! I'm using Nero by the way I've done dozens successfully before.

Did you encode before you let Nero get ahold of your file?

It was Bend it Like Beckham. I used SmartRipper to rip the vobs, then avi2vcd, then TMPGEnc with SMPX (or whatever tool) THEN Nero

What exactly does the phrase "TMPGEnc with SMPX (or whatever tool)" mean? Did you use a TMPGEnc template or not?

Sorry it is garbled. I wrote it after I came back from the pub!

I used the PAL VCD template. I used the SCMX audio tool from within TMPGEnc. I've been using this with great success for weeks when ToolAme started playing up.

where did outta sync occur, when playing the SVCD disc on computer or standalone DVD player?

by the fact that the SVCD was in sync before you burned it means that the burning process made it outta sync....or could be the media

also, how fast did you burn? 4x should be max....

The mpg file is in sync but the burnt CDR is slightly ahead on speech on my Mustek 520 DVD standalone and my fujitsu pc DVD player.
    I burnt at 4x.

I use Tevion CDRs. I've done dozens of em with no probs.

Should I try burning 1x maybe?

Tried at 2x (lowest possible) but still had sound ahead.
