If you told us the error message someone might be able to help.

As a guess, extract using direct stream copy, open in besweet and convert to whatever format you want from there.

I can tell U my error message:

I do like I alway do:
    Open the avi
    Audio - Full processing - Conversion - 44100Hz - no change (stereo) - No change (8 bit) - File - Save wav - Ok

"The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format, check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format"

If I do File- File information, it says that sampling is 48000 and channels is 5. Compression is Unknown (tag2000)

  5. jimA, You have Ac3 audio by the looks of it. Take a look here:

Nope, that can't be it. (If the guide is correct)

"How do I know if the audio in my DivX is AC3 ... first it won't play in Windows Media Player"

    It plays fine in wmp.

  8. Weel, the fact that virtualdub says the audio has 5 channels is what made me think that it was Ac3. Which part of the guide didn't work. If you get an error loading the Ac3 file into headac3he, try running it thorugh Ac3fix first (use google to find it)

You obviously have an AC3 codec installed, the person who wrote the guide didn't!
