  1. I've downloaded a Sci-Fi series off the web and the programmes are DivXwith AC3...i had no problems to begin with cause i had AC3 codec installed and they played fine. Just recently i have bought 2 games and unless i uninstall the AC3 codec they crash to desktop!!!
Anyway i want to convert the DivX files to another format and i've read the guide on here but have a question.
The guide says strip the audio out as a .wav file, when i reencode, is it better to use this .wav file or to convert it to a MP3?
Also am i better to convert it to SVCD or VCD, will i lose quality if i convert to VCD?

  2. The best thing for you to do if you're just going to watch these files on your computer is to only recode the sound. To do this you need to strip off the sound using VirtualDub. Convert the file to a Wav file using Headac3he or Bsweet or Azid or similar.

Then select wav audio in virtualdub and load the wav file select your required compression (mp3 is probably best). Select direct stream copy for the video and save the as avi.

    Easy
