    heya all!

    how do i convert divx5 avi file to mpg/vcd? i am able to that with a divx 3.11 avi file using tmgenc, but it refuses to recognise a divx 5.0 file. i have installed the dix 5 codec and i am able to play it.

    what do i do? any other program does it? and how?

    This is very odd since, if you can open the divx avi file in Media Player, TMPGEnc should also load it. Is the file name .avi? What format is the audio in the AVI saved as. Try opening the file with Virtual Dub, does it open there?

    hello Xtasy!

    yes, the file is named as avi and it opens very well in the divx player that comes by default with the divx pack and i am able to watch it. but when it comes to opening it in virtual dub it doesnt open it there and neither does it get recognised by tmgenc. both r the latest versions. any issues with these programs? like maybe some kind of incompatibility or something like that?

    any leads to some reading on these issues? thanx in advance!
