What is the the optimal way to capture to Dazzle from a camcorder. My camcorder tape looks clear running through my VCR but I lose lot of the quality when I capture to Dazzle. I've tried using the highest settings ( Mpeg 1= 36 Mb) and still not as good as the original tape.
Any suggestions?

You didn't specify what type of connection you are using. If you are using standard composite connections - there is a slight decrease in quality. In this case try using a S-Video connection. Another possibility would be to try out gold plated composite connectors (as they are meant to better). Capturing at your setting of mpeg1 @ 5.000kb/sec you might as well try out using mpeg2 as the quality, I personally, find much better.

Hi, George and aldus4
I have DVC II too. Capture from DirecTV connect by S-Video is perfect. However, I've tried to capture from Camcorder, Digital8, S-video connection, like you George, to make SVCD or VCD. The result is so bad. I'm trying several way to do, even capture at DVD 480x480 @ 6-8000 mbs and re-encode to svcd. Still have not got good result.
I think it might be the way that I took the video, my hands are always little bit shaking, therefore the images in the video sequence have motion that make the result after capture so bad.
Maybe someone has solutions for this....
