For those of you that have captured analog VHS and burned a SVCD (or VCD) that looks great on your TV, what filters did you use when you frameserved it to Tmpg, and/or what filters did you use in Tmpg?
I tried using a 2d cleaner, temporal cleaner and dynamic noise reduction and it looked lousy. I've gotten ok results with just enabling noise reduction in Vdub and then using Tmpg's noise filter (no HQ - it bumps my encoding time to 15x) and Sharpen (set to max neg values).
I'm curious to see what other people use who have done very successful transfers and very anxious to try some of them.
