  1. how come when i use virtual dub i split the movie file in half and then i go to nero to convert to vcd. then it burns it then i go to watch it on my dvd player it is different it goes from a widescreen to a full screen and it loses its quality looks like it was streched. how can i keep it a widescreen movie if it is wide screen and a full screen movie if it is full screen?

  2. after you cut it,does it look like the original?
me thinks that nero is converting it to full screen.

  3. I'd imagine nero is converting the file to 4:3 format rather than retaining the 16:9 screen ratio. Try using TMPGEnc to do the converting prior to burning in nero. You will need to adjust the settings in TMPGEnc to keep the widescreen settings -

MPEG Settings / Advanced / Video Arrange Method = Full Screen (Keep Aspect ratio)
