OK, This is my first post here so take it easy on me. First let me say this site is great and has a wealth of information. I have learned so much from the Guides and Forum, but I cant seam to find an answer to one question. I have been making VCDs for about 6 months. I have sucessfully made about 15 VCDs. I usually download as DivX, rip the audio to a .wav with VDub, encode with TMPGEnc, and author/burn with VCDEAsy. I used the guides and have been successful in making a VCD at 1 Hr 50 Min + on one disk.

My question is in VCD Easy if I select the option for PBC, I can add chapters whenever I want and tab thru the movie on my standalond DVD player,I can slow forward 1/2 or 1/4, but I cannot fast forward. I toggled the PBC option on my DVD player, all that did was disable my ability to tab thru the chapters. I reburnt the VCD with the PBC option in VCD Easy off, now I am able to use the fast forward on my DVD player (2x -20x), but cannot tab thru the chapters. I toggled the PBC option on the DVD player again, same result, just disabled my ability to fast forward.

I tried burning with Nero, was able to fast forward, but could not figure out how to put in chapters.

What I want is to be able to utalize chapters and the fast forward options of my stand alone DVD player. The DVD player is a Venturer, all in one surround sound w/ tuner.

Am I doing something wrong, or is VCD Easy not able to do what I want it to? If it is VCD Easys limitations, what else could I use for the best result?

    Thanks for your assistance

  2. maybe it is your player. I also use VCDEasy. On my dvd player (mintek 2110), I use next/prev button to scroll thru the chapters and FR/FF button to fast reverse/forward.

Thanks for the reply, maybe I'll run my VCD collection over to my neighbors house and see if its the same on his player. BTW, do you turn the PBC option on VCD Easy on or off?

  4. You maybe also can run test the fast foward on
    your computer's software player.

Most od time, the problem is the make/model of the player.
