  1. I've just purchased a Pacific DVD-1002 from Asda. Having a weird problem with it. It seems to play fine but I am now coming across some of my DVD-R/+R back-ups that it won't let me watch the movie.

I can watch all special features and get all meu's but the movie won't play, the display shows it playing and I can skip chapters but I don't get the pic of sound.

Has this got anything to do with macrovision?, I've never experienced this and the backup's all work in other standalones no problem.

  2. hi there i am very keen to get opinion on the pacific 1002 dvd player , i wanted ( but hesitated too long ) on buying an apex brand and this is a shame because it does exactly what i need ( i tried it on my sons player by using some vcds- where usually the 2nd track froze on my philips dvd player they worked fine on the apex .. so nw i am looking at the pacific 1002 as a hoped for substitute to play my vcds ... would you say i would be ok to buy one ?

    cheers eric

  3. My Pacific DVD-1002 plays VCD's/SVCD's perfectly, as does it play all the media I've thrown at it, cheap CD's at 10p ago and DVD-R at 80p all play beautifully.

The only problem I have with it is as per the details above which I don't understand.

The Pacific DVD-1002 certainly gets 10/10 in my opinion.
