I have a Music01.dat file with the format:
MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 192kbps
When i burned this file with Nero, Nero said it's non-compliance so I tried to use TMPEnc/Simple Multiplex to fix it. However I got the error "Illegal MPEG video stream" and I also tried TMPEnc/Simple De-Multiplex to extract the video and audio, I got the same error.
So I decided to re-encode the file using the VideoCD (NTSC) template with the format:
Video-CD NTSC (MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)
But the output .mpeg file is way out of sync. The audio is about 3 mins late.
Anyone has any suggestion please help me.
Thanks very much in advance.

I am slowly getting in ot this but here is an idea.
The *.dat file i think is an mpeg but nero may not accept the *.dat extention. change the extention to *.mpg (just rename the file) and try nero again telling it to burn a VCD using the renamed file. -
Try either just burn with nero and ignore the error or use vcdgear to convert the .dat to .mpg and buurn with nero
