  1. Hello I am a newbie to the board but will be returning a lot by the looks of it

I have a problem I shoot my own footage with some friends and am trying to create a DVD to distribute it on

I capture to full quality DV and edit it in studio 7

I now want to create a mpeg compliant mpeg file using either Studio 7 or external encoding software (TMPGEnc Plus)

But after I have converted the video when I play it back it seems to have lines throughout the footage on any moving images

What I need to know is is this because I am viewing the file on my PC and after I have burnt it to DVD it will be fine or is it an encoding error it seems to happen both in Studio and TMPGenc

    any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

DV video is interlaced. The motion artifact you are looking at is called "combing". Check this out for an explanation: http://www.lukesvideo.com/
There are a number of ways to reduce interlacing artifacts. Do a search on this site for solutions. The subject has been discussed extensively.
    Good Luck!
