what is the best program for combining multile m2v's? beacuse:

my overall plan is to :
    1) rip 3 unencrypted dvd's of home footage, ending up with multiple m2v's and ac3's.
    2) combine the m2v's with____? (this is where u come in!) and ac3's using cat method.
    3) export the single, combined m2v to a lower bitrate in QT Pro so it will fit on 1 dvd-r. (using QT mpeg-2 component)
    4) then build the disk by putting this newly produced m2v and the single, combined ac3 in DVDSP.

do u think this will work, or is there additional steps i need to include? this is my first time downsmpling so i consider myself a newb to it. your help is greatly appreciated, so plz post comments or tips. THANK YOU!

    hmmmm
i encode my movies in blocks of 40000 frames(due to limited amount of time i get to use computer) with CCE. by the time i finish the 1st disk i have about 3 or more mpv's(isnt that the same as m2v?? coz my mpv's are mpeg-2)

now i use tmpgenc - mpeg tools at the cut/join. i choose add - then i must type in *.* to view all files, then i select my mpv's in the order they fit together and then choose an output file and click run.

it has worked every time for me

m2v files w/ac3...they recode them to vob/ifo structures
u could probable just renumber the vobs and use ifoedit to
restructure them, tryed this with trailers and used no menu's
came out ok,but wouldnt play on every deck i got....
