Can I return the DVD Philips 703 to its Factory Default

I bought a DVD player (Philips 703) and it was already hacked (in some way) to play region 1 and region 4 DVDs. However, the dvd's display turns off averytime I try to play a VCD. Is there any way of returning it back to its factory defaults and after that use the RC6+222 222 005 255 to make it region free?.
