JAW gives me a first chunk that works, and several that don't. Tried a bunch of settings. Anyone got any ideas? Another program? (Running 10.2.2). I remember extracting working MPEG-2 streams from partial .bin's, so maybe I need to make a .bin of the 2.2GB MPEG-2, split that w a file splitting program that allows files over 2GBs (any ideas?) and then extract the MPEG-2s, re-bin them and burn... damn that sounds like a pain... any ideas on a bette way?

My fault of course; forgot to click the right boxes using ffmpegx LOL... seems you can't get it to split the files after the fact... pity, that's the fastest and best splitter I've seen/used...

  2. The GUI is not too self-explaining and certainly needs improvement, but ffmpegX 0.0.4g allows for splitting without encoding.

Use the Mpeg-Tools tab, open the video in the right side (no audio if your mpeg file contains both video and audio) select the split and author options as usual, then select "Postprocess (split&author)", uncheck "Mux" and "Demux", and hit "Go!".

Something just5 occured to me; there is one difference between the two mpeg stremas I tested... the one where the splitting worked had a bitrate of 2500, the other (where only the first part worked and then got "invalid" for the rest) is bitrate 1900. Could this be a factor?
