  1. Hi guys. I got an avi (frameserved thru tmpgenc using virtualdub for subtitles) with a few bad frames in it - i asked some other ppl about fixing the bad frames and this is the answer i got :

" If you want to convert the file to another format like SVCD, you can use a program called AVIIndexgenerator and a hex editor to patch the file (set the size of the bad frame to 0 bytes) so VirtualDub won't stop at the bad frame. "

my question is is this possible and what do i have to do?0 ( cause im a newbie)

Here. Use this process to cut out your bad frames, and try to frameserve again.

  3. ok i'll try it thanks for the assist
don't mean to be rude tho, but you didn't really answer my question.
if im not mistaken, doing it the way in the guide would mean losing the bad frames right? what i would like to know is whether there is a method of preserving the bad frame so that VirtualDub won't stop at the bad frame while frameserving using the method above?
