  2. Again for the last time. VCD spec does NOT support multichannel (ie, 3+ channels) audio of any kind. SVCD spec ONLY supports multichannel MPEG audio. However, very few dvd players output it correctly & even fewer receivers decode it correctly. SVCD specs does not support .wav, nor .ac3, nor DTS, etc.

    This article is talking about DD CD-audio only, not VCD/SVCD. Completely different things.

  3. I tried this AC3 on a CD - my player recognised it as a CDDA disc, and made no attempt to decode, just tried to play it as a normal stereo WAV file.

    If anyone has tried and made this work I would be interested to hear...
