Hi folks.
Right... I had a Lecson 900 DVD player that does play all VCDs and SVCDs on all CD-Rs.
I have now bought the newer model... the Lecson 1000 DVD player which has the exact same specs, but is having problems playing VCDs...
The problems are as follows...
I have a disc that plays fine but every now and again, seems to slow down/stutter very slightly and knock out the audio sync very very slightly. But, within a second or two, it cures itself... no problem.
But, ata certain times, the film stutters imensley and stops then starts the video but all while the sound plays fine. It takes about a minute or so to equal out, but during that time, the video is clear - but stutters and is totally (about 3 seconds) out of snyc.
Now, I am wondering why it plays fine on the Lecson 900 but not on the Lecson 1000?
Where did this video come from? Well, it was a NTSC-Film DivX that I converted to VCD NTSC-Film.
I have some questions which you clever peeps may be able to answer for me and they go as follows...
(1)How do these header (GOPs (?)) work and would that affect anything, although I doubt so as the disc works fine on the old player.
(2)Any chance it could be because of cheap discs? If so, why, becuase the 'cheap disc' works on the old player!
(3)The new player does heat up very very quickly and gets hot, wereas the old player stay at a normal temperature.
(4)I have copied the disc to make sure it was not an error on the actual discs and used a different brand of media, the exact same thing happened.
This has stumped me completely and if anyone can help then I would be very very grateful your opinions as I am about to throw this 'new model' player back to the place I bought it from.
Thanks so so much for any help at all!
Gray
