  1. I live in the US. I have some movies that are in the PAL format. They won't play on my current TV. I've been looking around for a TV that would support both PAL and NTSC but haven't been able to find any. Am I out of luck? All the vendors I talk to act like they've never heard of PAL or if they have they say they don't have any sets in the US that support it.

    Thanks for your help.

Avoid those dealers who lied to you (or were ignorant about the state of the art), and find a dealer who looks promising and ask him about a MULTISYSTEM television. That is what I have. I live in Italy and once it scanned all the channels it picks up all the availble PAL and NTSC stations. Good luck!
    Hello.

You shouldn't have a problem of getting a multi-system TV in the US. You have to go to the right place and the right dealer where multi-system TV's are available. Try Sony or Panasonic TV. I got both brands here as PAL and NTSC playable.

In fact a few years ago, I bought a multi-system VHS VCR in New York City and imported it home. No problem. So, why are you having a problem getting one?

That's what I'd like to know...

Everyone I've talked to said that they'd never heard of PAL. They just gave me blank looks. When I called Panasonic's technical support, the guy there admitted that they had no information on any PAL TVs in the US (but he at least knew what PAL is).

The big problem is that it's not listed in the specs or manuals and even the tech support guys don't seem to know which of their sets support it. So how can I figure out which models have it and which don't?
