  1. Here is my problem need help bad

    I STart With my hardware first

    Pentium 4 2.4 ghz
    soyo p4vda motherboard via chipset
    nvidia geforce 4 mx 420 64mb agp video card
    sound blaster extigy external sound card
    maxtor 80 gb 7200 rpm ata 133 ide drive
    hp dvd 200i writer
    generic dvd rom drive
    hp scanjet 3300c scanner usb port
    hp 855c printer
    us robitics 56k modem external com 1

    okay now on to my problem
    got my advc100 already purchased siig firewire card found out it had the texas instrument chipset could not get it to capture mor than 2 minutes.
    took it back and got pinnacle studio 8 dv with firewire card and software also have video deluxe 2.0 plus on computer also still unable to capture for more than 2 minutes then it stops the advc 100 is hooked up to jvc super vhs vcr some of my tapes that i am transfering is not good quality video . i bought the advc 100 because of the rave reviews i have been hearing and non loss of audio sync.
    any and all help appreciated

  2. Are you capturing to a FAT32 formatted disk? If so, you are coming up against file size limits imposed by this disk format.

    You should either be capturing to an NTFS formatted drive, or using software that will split your capture into FAT32 friendly chunks.

    Try using DVio to capture with. http://www.carr-engineering.com/dvio.htm Make sure nothing else is trying to use the disks while capturing.
    Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
