  2. hi,
    i don't know of any guides, but all you have to do is select you .avi files as normal, and then when it says start encoding striaght away, click on thebox beneath this with is marked batch encode. You can repeat this far as long as you like- to my knowledge.
    when you are finished just change the box you ticked from batch encoding to start encoding immediatly when finished, and you should be all set.
    if i havn't explained this very well, please message me and i will try to help

    Batch Encode w/ TMPG:
    ---------------------

    Scenario:
    ---------
    A, import AVI(s) into vdub
    B, frameServe to TMPG
    B1,Settings/Advanced/[x]SourceRange, then [OK], and [OK]
    C, give Output File Name: ... for ie, "Splash.mpg"
    D, Ctrl+S

    Note,
    * Repeat B1 - D
    * obviously, change your source range values for newer scenes
    * for C, REMEMBER, to give new name for each encode you want to batch
    .. ie, "splash.mpg" was your first, 2nd will be say, "chase.mpg", and so on.
    * REMEMBER, to press Ctrl+S after each encode to batch.

    So, assuming you had 5 scenes you wanted to batch encode ie, and you used
    the above method I laid out:
    * splash.mpg
    * chase.mpg
    * conversation.mpg
    * couchpotato.mpg
    * taxi.mpg

    ---> File/Batch encode/Add
    .... load in all five clips ie, above (use your own of course)
    .... then, when you're ready to begin encoding, press Run

    The above will encode all 5 clips into 5 "separate" MPEG files.

    But, what if you wanted to "merge" all 5 of those encodes??
    Well, the easiest way would be to "cut out" the scenes and only keep the
    five (above) using vdub first, then frameServe into TMPG as one file.
    But, of course, those five above wouldn't be their w/ names and all. Instead,
    you would simply have ONE main AVI or AVI's merged/appended and from THAT
    AVI, you cut out and leave in the scenes you want, then frameServe into TMPG.

    Hope that helps.

  5. When using Wizard:

    Set everything as usual and on the page 5/5 tick Create another project(s) for batch encoding box, press OK and you can now create another project(s) - as many as you like. When setting up the last one just tick Start encoding immediately box on page 5/5 and press OK. If you want TMPGEnc to do encoding at a later time just untick both boxes and press OK. To start encode go File->Batch encode->Add, add the projects you want to encode (you can choose which ones), when all projects are added press Run.

    When not using Wizard:

    Load your source file(s), type a name for output file, set everything up in Settings as per usual. When done go to File->Save project, type a name for your project and Save. Now you can set everything up for the next project. When all projects have been saved then (whenever you want to start encoding) go to File->Batch encode->Add, add the projects you want to encode (you can choose which ones), when all projects are added press Run.

    think i get what u are saying but just to make sure, i have a question. So if i wanted to encode 2 avis over night, i would use batch encoding right? and then i would not have to take time to go on my computer after one is done encoding

  6. TMPGE > open > Movie.avi > Set Template,settings etc > File > Save Project.

    Repeat for Movie #2 etc (they must have a different name..of course)

    TMPGE > File > Batch Encode > Add.... Movie #1 ,#2 etc > Run
    "Today is only yesterdays tomorrow"

    hmmmm, yes and no.

    Lets assume you are just so happens to be talking divX files. I'll
    go on assuming that these are FULL movies you want to encode, but
    don't want ta have to be their "waiting" through the whole process.

    Then, in that case, you could do one example like this:
    * open vdub
    * Open and load in your First avi (divX) file, then
    * File/Append AVI segment, and you now have two files merged to frameServe

    The above I don't recommend because one, the file will be huge and will
    take longer to frameServe, and may cause issues w/ different OS versoins.
    Also, both clips (if divX) may not be the same specs, and vdub may not
    open the second one.

    However, you could open two vdubs and import the AVI files indivdully
    and then frameserve each vdub instances. ie:
    * set both vdubs to frameserve mode using below:
    * call the first vdub's frameserve *.vdr file, A.vdr
    * then call the second vdub's frameserve *.vdr file as B.vdr
    * open TMPG
    * set your video and audio to A.vdr
    * give Output file name, ie Superman.mpg
    * press Ctrl+S
    * then,
    * set tmpg's video and audio to B.vdr
    * give Output file name, ie Godzilla.mpg
    * press Ctrl+S
    * then,

    Now, just: File/Batch Encode, Add those two files ie, A.vdr and B.vdr to the
    Batch list (make sure others aren't in the batch list, if so, just delete
    those)
    And, then click RUN.
    Before you know it, both divX file movies will be encoded.

    - - - - - - - - - -

    Another method, is to importh both into AVS scripts and feed/frameserve
    the AVS script into TMPG, and use the Source Range feature (as described
    in previous POST above) process.

    I'm sure there are other methods, but these came up pretty quickly, w/out
    my thinking of possibel issues.

    I hope the above are additional helpful tips.

  8. Batch encode in TMPGenc Plus 2.58 isn't working for me, either using the file menu or using the wizard. Either way, I get the "can not find the file error." However, if I just click on one of the items in the batch list, it proceeds normally (I'm encoding AVI to MPEG2), then can't find the file on the second member of the batch list.

    Any advice? It isn't a problem with the location of files.
