    I was wondering if people could help me out by suggesting a DVD player that can play dvd/vcd/svcd/cd-r/cdr-w and have macrovision disabled but costs only £120-£130 as I am on a budget. I was looking at the Samsung DVDS224 but I dont know if macrovision can be disabled on it. Please help as I need the DVD player by christmas.

    Look left - there is a DVD player guide where you can search on all the features you require and read user reviews.

    My personal favourite (as I have one) is the Pioneer DV340 which plays almost anything you throw at it - it's cheap too £109 in Richersounds. Not the most feature rich of players and has a few annoying querks but nearly all DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW media that I have tried works fine with it.
