When I try to extract the audio using virtual dubb, It wont let me save the wav file, here is what the file information says:
Sampling rate: 22050Hz
Chanels: 2(stereo)
Sample Precision 0-bit
Compression unknown(tag0055)
Preload Skew 166 samples(0.01s)
# of frames 34005
Min/Avg/max/total frame size 157/166/167(5515k)
It says the requested audio compression is not compatable with the input format. Check that the sampling rateand channel count of the input match those of the requested format.
Any help on how to extract these files would be a great help.

Ok i tried that now here is what it tells me.
format tag name: WAVE_FORMAT_MPEGLAYER3(MP3)
format vendor: ISO/MPEG
Gspot has found thatthe creativeMP3 codec will decompessthis audio format
DirectShow was alsoable to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine. See the direct showrender details for more info.
I dont understand what this means or how to use this information.
Why doesnt virtual Dubb recognise that codec from the file?
I have an almost identical file that uses the same codec and that one worked fine.
Is there another way to remove the audio before incoding? -
Try the following, which sometimes works in intransigent cases (provided you don't have .ac3 or .ogm sound).
Load into Virtualdub. Audio>Direct stream copy. File> Save wav. Next change the .wav extension to .mp3, and try converting with any audio converter, such as Winamp, MMJB etc.
If that doesn't work, the next step is to load into Graphedit, and see what comes up.
