  1. I keep trying to get a video cd or super video cd to loop through still images and video. I can get videos and images to play but sometimes it just starts doing strange things. Is it possible to have video and images throughout a slideshow and have it loop indefinately? What is the role of PBC and how does it affect looping?

    Much Appreciation!

  2. The answer to what you want to do is, "Yes, it is possible".

    As to your problems, what are you using to make the VCD?

    PBC = play back control.

    If you use the VCDImager system of authoring S/VCDs (i.e., if you use VCDEasy, TSCV or author the VCD manually), then you can manually author the XML file to do exactly what you want.

    It's hard for me to necessarily tell you what to do..., but as a general gist, you can a VCD to loop a series of things indefinitely by:

    Using the <next> and <prev> tags to chain together the <selection> and <playlist> items.

    For a <playlist>, whatever is referred to in <next> will be what will be played automatically after the current playitem has finished (and if you press "next").

    For a <selection>, whatever is referred to in <timeout> will be what will be played automatically after the current playitem has finished (for the user selection of "next", it is what is referred to under the <next> tag

    Try an follow the principles in the guides here: http://www.vcdimager.org/guides

  3. Thanks for all the good information. I am using nero and getting spotty results. I'll try to use vcd imager and see if I have better results.

    Cheers,
