allright... since i messed myself with adding subtitles using tmpgenc for 3 days without any results i finally got a hand on it...so thought i could share what i did in order to get it to work..... btw, thanks for the guides, really helped alot...
anyways, this is what i did when i got msges like "illegal decimal.. unsupported error msges etc etc..."
ok, first of all i use tmpgenc 2.53 and VD 1.4.9.....
Install the handler that comes with VD 1.4.9, first uninstall the handler that is in VD 1.4.10 if thats the handler u use at the moment, since it seems that the handler in VD 1.4.10 doesnt work.. btw, im using WinME....
next, i put the msvcr70.dll inboth VD-dir/tmpgenc-dir and in windows\system32 and windows\system, next, go get the avisynth.zip file that can be gotten somewhere on vcdhelp.com... extract the avisynth.dll file to all the mentioned dirs above.... and click on the install.reg file that came within the zipfile... next, go get the readavs.zip that can also be gotten on vcdhelp.com and read the instructions in the readavs.reg file... also, dont forget to install vobsub/textsub for VD!
now, the biggest prob i encountered was those damn error msges... here is what i did to be able to frameserve to tmpgenc with VD...
i went to Option->Environmental Setting in TMPGEnc, then to CPU and uncheck the "Enable SSE" after that go to VFAPI plug-in and note, in my tmpgenc i do not have anything saying "The file cannot be loaded" all mine are loaded, cant remember what i did or how i did it but, i dont think thats a big prob. getting them loaded... anyways, these are my priorities there:
AVI VFW compatibility Reader = 2
AVI2(OpenDML) File reader = 2
DirectShow Multimedia File reader = 2
TMPGEnc Project File reader 2.53 = 2
BMP/PPMTGA/JPG File Reader = 1
Avisynth/Virtualdub script reader v0.1 = 1
Wav File Reader = 0
those are my settings right now while encoding a movie but, i did encounter probs even with those settings in VFAPI plug-in but, that was when trying to add subs to another movie, so i went back to the VFAPI plug-in settings and messed with the priorities by going setting them to higher or lower, and what happens? POOF* i can add subtitles without tmpgenc giving me error msges and freezing!!!
hope this will help you guys out there expiriencing the same prob that i did before....
good luck
