  1. HELP ME!!!!
I have just bought a new dvdplayer, a cheep model though. The problem with it, is that it does not support VCD or SVCD, and I would like to know if it is possiple for me, without buying a new dvdplayer, to play movies on it. My burner is a normal cdburner, not a dvdburner, so if you would like to help me with my little problem, I would be very happy!!!!!!!
In regards, thanks for your help.......

  10. And not much use unless you don't mind changing discs 6 or 7 times during a film. MiniDVD only holds about 15 minutes of video.

you can make a miniDVD with a vcd/cvd video on i and, yes you can make (motion) menus it is just like a DVD but on a CD.

    use the guide:

How to put VCD MPEG1 video on a DVDR
    or
How to put SVCD MPEG2 video on a DVDR

and burn it to CD-R insted of DVD-/+R

i dont think your dvd player vill ever play svcd or vcd

to make menus you need a dvd authoring program that suports motion menus like DVDmestro or Scenarist.

    TAK!!!!!

  16. you can make a cdvd with lower bitrate,
    lets say 352X480 resolution,
    about 2000 bitrate.
you will get a cdvd about the size of 2 or 3 cd's.
about the same size that you whould have come up with for svcd.

you can do the conversion from avi to mpeg using tmpeg.
and you will need to author a dvd using other software.
lets say - "dvd movie factory" or "dvd workshop", "dvdit"
but these programs cost a lot....
and in any case you need to see if your dvd will play them,
    chances are that it doesnt.
but you will not know untill you try.
HELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE
