  1. I've been trying to use sefy's guide to rip DVDs and I have a different version of DVD2AVI than the one used and I can't process the audio from the vob file. What should I do or what else can I use?

  2. main thing is to set dolby digital to decode....

also, try switching to another audio track...the default one may not contain an audio track or one that dvd2avi can handle

  3. when I press F8 it doesn't give me any option as to where I can save the file, where is it going to? Or maybe (sorry to ask) what is the step by step that I should do?

  4. under the file dropdown menu, there should be an option to save .d2v project file...

  5. I already have the d2v file but I haven't got the audio. or do I just use the audio?

DVD2AVI has an audio dropdown list. You may have no track selected or the wrong track selected. How did you rip the DVD,are you sure you ripped an audio track? For example in Smartripper if you enable stream mode and you rip in normal mode you won't rip any audio track.

  7. yeah I used smartripper (movie mode) then I tried using DVDx but the video and audio were really jerky (speeded up and skipped) so now I'm trying to use DVD2AVI as an alternative but like I said on the previous post it won't let me save the audio from the drop down menu, it gives me: Track number, Channel Format, Dolby Digital, MPEG Audio, 48 -> 44kHz, and Normalization. I tried the prescale decision under the Dolby Digital menu and I noticed something happening but I don't know what exactly.

In the audio menu, check track 1,Dolby Digital, and Decode. Leave everything else unchecked. Use the save project option. Look at the info panel as it's saving, the audio portion will be registering elapsed time if you selected a track with audio.
if it's not go back and select track 2 and try again.

  9. It's showing the elapsed time and everything but all it's doing is giving me another d2v file but no wav or MP3.

  10. Actually I'm sorry to be such a damn pain in the @$$ but I got it to work but TMPGEnc won't read the d2v files and I DLed the VFAPI plugin and tried it with force film and nothing. Did I do somethign wrong?

  12. Hi,

I'm having trouble converting the file made from DVD2AVI in the TMPGnc program. I load up the d2v file and do all the settings as instructed and hit start. it goes along and then everything stops with the error

"read error @ address 0049EECD of module TMPGEnc.exe with 03FD0F00."

can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? maybe i didn't unzip everthing in the same file. should i delete everything and re-unzip?

    thanks,

    consumerd

  13. That would be a good idea to start with, maybe your TMPGEnc got screwed
up somehow, make sure you download latest versions of all the programs!

that may not be the case all the time. i've realized that the more options a proggie has, the more bugs it can also have. i have a really old version of tmpgenc that hasn't failed me yet. sometimes, new versions can actually be worse than the older ones (i.e. i had to switch back to an older version of vobsub because the newer version made the subtitles have freaky colors). i'm sure there are other examples, i.e. newer flask always seem to have "stack dump" problems for me.

    consumerd,

try doing this first before redownloading and reinstalling everything.

    1) make sure you restart your comp right before you're about to encode
    2) once you restart, ctrl-alt-del and close all the proggies, except for systray.

try encoding now and c if you get any errors. doing this sometimes prevents any background proggies from messing up tmgpenc.

  15. I Actually also keep the good old TMPGEnc 12a, there are alot of times where
the new releases screw up, not to mention the old one has MPEG2 Encoding.

I Get updating because to be honest, they are much faster, I have realtime
    encoding on my PC now

  16. wow, thanks guys. i've recently tried to encode again using tmpgenc and it worked! but on another one, it won't. so, i'm thinking there might be somehting wrong with that d2v file. anyhow, i'm going to try to pay more attention to what i'm doing before i encode and if it works successfully. thanks again!
