Nowadays, I come across lots of *.avi files which doesn't have an index built into them (means SLOW SEEKING TIME) and they don't run with windows media player. However, I can open them with VIRTUAL DUB, it reconstructs the index file, but I can only see 70 or 80% of the avi... what should I do? Suggestions are sure welcome!

What index? Are you talking about FF or RW? I've got no problems with those. The only ones which are *sometimes* a problem are the .asf files.
Perhaps it's your computer? Or an incomplete download?
