This might be a little vague, but hopefully someone can help me. I have been capturing videos and dumping to vcd for a while now, but something I am new to is divx. Someone gave me a bunch of stuff in divx format that I had been looking for, and I want to convert to vcd, but I am having trouble. I am using TMPGenc. I downloaded the new divx codec 5.x, but one of the files will play in windows media player, but not in TMPGenc or anything else for that matter, ie: Premiere, Xing, etc.

Another Problem is that one of the files is 88mb and 23 min., but when it renders, it takes hours and makes a file that is over 600mb and has 30 min. or more of black at the end. Also, the sound doesn't render. This file reads in virtualdub as divx mpeg4 v2 low speed, the other reads as high speed. I have no clue what this means. Anyone have any ideas on these? Also, they are 512 x 388 instead of 352 x 240, does this factor into the problems? Any help would be appreciated.

No, Sorry, I mean't, that I had it that way. I haven't modified it yet. I am at work, so I don't have access to my system yet, but the settings I have are around 3 for avi, and 0 for the rest.

    ANYONE PLEASE!!! I'M DYING HERE!!!

  7. This can be caused my many things, but at this point, you best bet is trying to install the nimo codec pack. (could be xvid too). Anyways, if that don't sort it, then uh. Look into it deeper. Mind you, I like the quality of DivX better, I play em thru my S-video out
