    Here's the problem.
    I have an avi file that I want to convert to SVCD using LSX 3.5 but it complains that the audio isn't supported when I load my file.
    I believe I have to convert the audio using V Dub, which I have but.....
    1) What do I convert it to?
    2) How do I load it back into my encoder along with the video?

    I have read this guide and the last part about 'audio stream unsupported' is me.
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/lsxsvcd.htm
    AVI to SVCD

    But I'm going round in circles, I could do with an idiots guide (as always)

    Thx all

    if you're doing SVCD, your best bet would be to use Besweet GUI to do the audio separately(44.1khz mp2 w/error correction), do the video separately, and then multiplex them w/BBMPEG.
    there's a guide at doom9 for besweet, and one here for BBMPEG
    what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

  3. Load your avi in vdub

    Audio->full processing mode
    Audio->Compression Non (PCM)
    Audio->conversion (select 44.1 if it is not that already)
    File->save wav

    Now do this (still in vdub)

    Audio->wav audio (select newly created wav file)
    Video->direct stream copy
    File->save as avi (give it a new name)

    This should now load into your encoder without any problems.

    Hope this helps

    Do you suggest these because they are good quality or easy to use?, or both.

    I am currently trying this. Encoding the video file only using LSX 3.5, I'm then going to try and convert the audio using TMPG enc to mp2, and then try to 'mux' them using whatever software I have that will do it, poss' TMPG enc' (which gives me dodgy results if I do the lot using it in case you were wondering).

    Does this sound right?. Can you confirm what I have to convert the audio to?.

    Thx
