  1. Two questions if you guys could help. Using the KVCD templates with TMPGE I have made several short clips in both vcd and svcd and I dont really notice a difference in picture/sound quality between them. Other than the larger file size of the svcd there is no difference. Is this normal?

Secondly the picture output seems kind of small on my tv, its not tall enough. My output file size is set at 704x576. Am I stuck with what I get?

Just some background. My source is divix and properties says its 576x240 25fps. I am using pal templates that are 704x576. My dvd player doesnt support scvd, so after encoding them I simple multiplex them in mpg1-nonstandard to get them to work. I burn both as vcd using nero and uncheck the compliance box. If it matters I live in the U.S. How screwd up am I?
    Thanks

  2. You're not screwed up at all jrv331
You did the right thing. If your source is PAL, you encode with a PAL template. Just about every DVD player made will play NTSC or PAL VCD's. For playing back DVD's, that's another story, because of the region restrictions on the player. But this doesn't apply to VCD's. For your picture size, try using FitCD. This will calculate the correct output aspect so you encode with the correct resizing.
