I just got Spiderman and after i rip it i try and play it with Power DVD and i get no sound... is this from the rip or is this the PowerDVD Player?

did u rip just the movie or the whole dvd.?

If you just ripped the movie VOBs then try skipping to the 2nd VOB.
I have had this problem several times. The sound is sometimes missing in the first VOB but remaining VOBs are fine.
If this is the case let me know and I'll give the solution that I came up with. pressed 4 time at the moment -
AC5.1 is not standard for standard Power DVD. It's an upgrade. If you ripped it to Harddrive, you probably have just the (English) AC5.1 stream. I rolled back to an older version that supports 5.1 instead of the new version that I had to buy an upgrade for. Try a different player (like Media Player classic, no installed involved).
