  1. I was just wondering how I might go about making one of these? can I just do it notepad? I want to make a VCD that will skip ahead to a certain point(s) in a video when I hit the next button but keep it as one mpeg file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been using Nero 5.5 and I tried to to put several mpegs together to make a VCD but there are pauses between each track. So, correct if I'm wrong but can creating a .cue file prevent this? Thanks for the help in advance.

  2. You need to create a MPEG image file. VCDImager is the most common program. It's a dos/command line program so I'd get VCDImager GUI to go with it

If you're doing mpeg tool check out TSVC (www.ttool.org) I think the newest ver might no MPEG1 too, not sure.

  3. I tried to get VCDImager but I couldn't get it to install and the txt file that was supposed to tell me how to do install it wasn't included int eh zip file.

  4. forget about the install file; it contains information specific to installation from source code...

the installation of the binary package consists of unzipping the zip file... that's it... and well, keep in mind, that vcdimager by itself is a command line application... so if you are used to GUIs just look around for that... there are a few GUIs out for vcdimager...

  5. alright, then it is working for me, at least the gui. Thanks for clearing that up. Also, is there a way I setup the VCD so that I can skip to different points in the same mpeg without haveing skips? The command lind application in VCDImager will not work for me though. the black box window just flashes on teh screen and then goes away when I click on the (whatever it's called).exe icon. Any ideas on how to fix this? also, is there a "how to" txt file so that I can somehow learn how to use thsi program? Thanks a lot

  6. like hvr and Vejita-sama said you need a GUI (graphical user interface) for that. if you click the word tools to the left you will find what you are looking for. this entire site is a sorgasboard of information about various aspects of video, if you look around a bit im sure you will find all the tools and tutorials you need.
    peace out,
