  2. Don't post the same question twice (especially within 2 hours of each other!!!).

    Once is enough.

  3. If you install OS from one PC and transfer that HDD to another PC then you will have problems with all the drivers, system device and bus controller but this is a doable thing.

My suggestion, (do it at your own risk, do not attempt if you are not sure)

    1. completly disconnect/unplug the main hdd (win me) then connect the one that you want to install as master last install win 98. Before you move that hdd to your old PC you should remove any device drivers those installed with new PC system.

    2. You don't have to disconnect anything but you have to change some setting in BIOS. I assume you connect that old hdd as slave. All you have to do is to set to "NONE" for your main hdd (hdd with OS) this will prevent system to look for OS in that HDD. And you should set BIOS to boot from Hdd-1 and/or Slave, this will make sure that your slave connection will act like master one.

I have done both ways without a probelm. Be sure to know what you do before you do anything. Back up all important files before any attempt. Do it at your own risk.

Just a thought, how are you gonna get all drivers required for old PC after you installed win98 and move hdd to it? If you old PC doesn't have a CD-ROM, I don't think you can do much with it. Almost if not all of the softwares come with CD and require CD-ROM.
