  1. When trying to making the backup copies of my new purchased DVD, I discovered that the process I have been using for so long did not work any more. There was no problem in video, the problem was in encoding LPCM audio. The wav files generated by DVD2AVI has a high pitch, and sounds like at double the speed as it should be. All the DVD's were released by EMI recently. I am wondering if it is a new encryption scheme.

I would also like to know what software tools were available to replace DVD2AVI to encode the audio?

I have tried a few rippers, such as SmarterRipper, DVD Decrypter, etc. and received the same results.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

no new encryption on the audio front at least - because just recording the audio real time is easy anyway .. and for some hardware issues - basicly how would you get all older dvd players to play the disk?

    i suggest you have a codec isssue and i would remove - then re-install all ac3 codecs/filters and releated apps . ..

  3. BJ,

It really purzzled me. I tried on three machines, all have similar settings and have been doing the job without problem until this disk set. There were no problems to play those disks in standalone players or play the ripped files on computer. There must be something that DVD2AVI does not handle right.

I will give FlaskMPEG a try to see if it can handle it.

    Thanks,
